Dr. Dale Smith, DVM
Dr. Smith was born and raised in Southern California. His love for skiing and the mountains brought him to Utah many years ago. He spent his summers as a wrangler at a summer camp in Antimony, Utah and attended the University of Utah where he earned a B.S. in biology. He then attended Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating from veterinary school Dr. Smith studied and practiced in Baltimore and Philadelphia, then returned to Utah and opened an orthopedic referral practice in Salt Lake City. He has two wonderful children. Dr. Smith has had a Boxer, two Dachshunds, a Toy Poodle, a Cockapoo, a Teacup Poodle, a Dalmatian, a Great Dane, a Golden Retriever, three Labrador Retrievers, a Yorkshire Terrier and many cats throughout his life and has loved them all. He continues to enjoy the vast outdoor opportunities that Utah has to offer.
Dr. Will Becker, DVM, DACVS-SA
Hailing from Tennessee, Willem Becker, DVM, DACVS-SA received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology, and later his Degree of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2009. After completing his general rotating internship at Michigan State University in 2010, he embarked on a three-year residency at Tufts University. Board-certified in small animal surgery, Dr. Becker’s clinical interests lie in advanced orthopedics such as total hip replacements, minimally invasive arthroscopies, and cruciate ligament repairs. He also has extensive experience with complex tumor removal, abdominal surgery as well as cardiothoracic surgery. When he is not improving the quality of life for patients, he is climbing, skiing, and spending time with his wife and two young children.
Dr. Paul Steinman, DVM
Dr. Paul Steinman grew up in the Salt Lake Valley. While in high school, he began working at local veterinary clinics. He continued to work as a technician during his undergraduate studies at Westminster College, where he earned a B.S. in chemistry with minors in physics and biology. He attended Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in the top 10% of his class. After veterinary school, Dr. Steinman completed an intensive one year veterinary internship program at a specialty clinic in Denver, CO. He was happy to eventually move back to Salt Lake City in 2012, where he began practicing at a busy general practice hospital. He continued to develop his orthopedic skills by attending continuing education courses and training with Dr. Smith on his days off. Dr. Steinman spends much of his free time biking, running, skiing, and otherwise enjoying Utah’s mountains and deserts with his incredibly smart and supportive wife and two dogs: Chaco, the Border Collie mix, and Rosie, the Labrador.
